Hello we're Louise and Martyn, both fully qualified and registered childminders. We're qualified childcare practitioners with a CACHE Levels 3 & 4 Diplomas in Child Care Learning and Development with more than 15 years’ experience working with children aged from birth to 18 years.
LouLabell's Cwtch is in the process of undertaking training, in order to become a ‘hygge’-accredited setting. Hygge (pronounced hue-guh not hoo-gah) is essentially a feeling of cosiness and comfort that sparks feelings of contentment and contributes to positive wellbeing and feelings. Hygge was initially a Danish lifestyle trend (the word means ‘fun’ in Danish) but many Western cultures are adopting this positive approach to their homes, settings, wellbeing and general lifestyle choices, in order to create and develop a more positive environment and approach to life by enjoying and focusing on the simple things that the world has to offer.
We aim to provide fun and exciting first hand experiences which will encourage and support children’s development. Play will be at the centre of children’s learning, with a wide range of activities and experiences. The beauty of our setting is that we have a mix of ages who all interact and play together. The older children learn so much from the youngers ones, for instance, they learn patients and gain a greater understanding of empathy, they love helping and the younger children who are often captivated by the older ones come along so much more with speech and language and the desire to explore. It truly is the perfect learning environment.
We love being outdoors and encourage it in all weathers. We provide wellies and puddle suits so never miss out on adventures outdoors exploring our local woods and streams. Learning in nature is perfect for young children and fresh air does wonders for the heart and soul.
